Holy fucking shit – New semi-interesting band for us all to talk about for a bit! Yuck are a stupidly new project, only setting up their myspace a few months ago, and already have a shitload of hype surrounding them, including a whole NME wankfest thing recently. Yuck comprise of two members from Cajun Cunt Party, some bird and some fat bloke. Thankfully they sound nothing like the previous band they were in and instead play a kind of early 90′s dreamy grunge ting. New single “Georgia” and personal favourite “The Wall” are perfect lo-fi pop tunes with great melodies that thankfully never become too cheesy, unlike bands they played with in the past…
With some gigs lined up with fellow HYPESTARS Egyptian Hip Hop and Dum Dum Girls at places like The Old Blue Last and all those shitholes on the horizon, im sure they’ll be getting ’nuff props in the coming months. A little bird told me theres a BTN gig in the pipeline so keep your eyes and ears peeled lads and ladettes…

Metronomy are back again, but this time as a proper proper band. They are a four piece and are better than ever. As Joseph (the main one), was showing us how to climb over the fence in front of the main stage at offset and sneak back stage (in a very drunken manner), he mentioned a new E.P. Now, me being a big Metronomy fan, I trawled the world wide internet until I found it. It’s called ‘Not Made For Love E.P.’ and from what I’ve heard on Myspace and Hype Machine it’s brilliant. There are only 3 new tracks on there, but there are 6 new remixes, and we all know how good Metronomy remixes are. Leo Zero does a great 11 minute remix of title track ‘Not Made For Love’ and Alalal does an even better remix of the same track. My favourite though is the short, but sweet original version of ‘What Do I Do Now?’ just for it’s beautiful double arpeggio running through out. The E.P. comes out on the 21st of September and apparently the vinyl is going to be a nice opaque colour, I love it when they do that.

Agaskodo Teliverek (Rearing Stallions in Hungarian) used to just be one bloke, Miki Kemecsi, playing frantic electronic music outside Aldwych tube station (apparently). Over the years though Miki has bought in other members to create the Agaskodo Teliverek we know today. They play guitars in a Dick Dale, Shadows style, but with the most absurd electronic backing music, which they have termed “Psycho Goulash”. The first album was good, especially ‘Topass’ the collaboration with The Rebel. Their latest album however has Hiroe Takei, a crazy, hyperactive, Japanese bird on vocals.

They have been playing a lot of parties and underground clubs in Shoreditch for the last couple of years and show no sign of stopping. You should be seeing a lot more of these guys in the next year or so, but maybe I’m just completely wrong.

This is the Gay Hussar video, the first single off of the latest album Psycho Goulash.
